Responsible Gambling

Limits, warning signs, self-exclusion tools and where to get help.

Gambling is entertainment with a negative expected value. The house edge is real, it does not go away over time, and no strategy on this site changes that. Everything below is written on the assumption that you are gambling money you can afford to lose.

Set limits before you play, not during

  • Decide a deposit limit for the month and set it in the operator’s own tools, where it is harder to reverse.
  • Set a session time limit. Most licensed operators offer reality checks — turn them on.
  • Never deposit to recover a loss. Chasing is the single strongest predictor of serious harm.

Warning signs

  • Gambling with money set aside for something else.
  • Hiding how much or how often you play.
  • Feeling restless or irritable when you try to stop.
  • Borrowing to gamble, or selling things to fund play.

Self-exclusion and support

Licensed operators must offer self-exclusion. National schemes go further and block you across every licensed site at once — GAMSTOP in the UK, and equivalent registers in most regulated European and US markets.

If gambling has stopped being fun, it is worth talking to someone about it. Support is free and you do not have to be in crisis to use it.
